Chris McGuiness is a bright guy, and it’s proven. McGuiness, the starting first baseman of the Round Rock Express who entered Thursday night batting .289 in his last 89 at-bats, was an Academic All-American selection out of The Citadel in 2009. McGuiness left The Citadel in 2009 and joined the Rangers organization in 2010 as part of a four-player deal.
